Celebrating 10 Years in Business... 2000-2010

A message from Stuart Ayling, Founder and Chief Sales Strategist

The majority of new businesses don't survive the first 3 to 5 years... so it is with great pleasure that I can say Marketing Nous is going strong after more than 10 years in business as a provider of sales improvement strategies.

Initially the business was started with an emphasis on marketing management and marketing planning processes. However, due to client demand the scope of services has evolved to now include a variety of training formats covering selling and presentation skills. These training events are part of an integrated suite of consulting and training services which are represented in the proprietary Sales Improvement Propeller model.
 
The extension into training services was a natural outcome of the move during the mid-naughties to focus on assisting service-based businesses and companies that sell technical, complex, or customised products.

Marketing Nous is one of the few providers in Australia that truly specialise in understanding the business development requirements of companies that sell intangible or highly technical services and products.

The technical and professional staff in these companies have unique challenges created by the juxtaposition of their technical expertise (a 'service' mindset) with business development responsibilities (a 'growth' mindset).

Importantly, I must thank all my wonderful clients and training participants who have entrusted Marketing Nous to help them achieve their goals and aspirations.
 

Doing the type of work that I do takes you deep into the heart of organisations and the people who work there. Trust is crucial, required on both sides. Empathy and diplomacy often have to be blended with candid feedback to get to the root of important issues and develop the best solutions. It's always challenging - that's why I love it!

And I am regularly amazed to see the personal improvements individuals can achieve when they are supported and provided with the right tools.
